Submit Capacity Statement to be a Technical Assistance Provider: inroads Resources in times of COVID19

by

Inroads members are experiencing the impact of the current global pandemic in myriad ways. As people committed to understanding, managing, and eliminating stigma associated with abortions, members are understandably also facing new and emerging challenges. In this moment of global crisis, inroads is repurposing network resources to support members in different ways, one of which is a new approach to compensating members to provide Technical Assistance (TA) to other members in June and July 2020.

In this blogpost you can understand the process for submitting your capacity statement in order to join the pool of members who are able to Provide Compensated TA to members.

Guiding Principles

  • Inroads is a network of individuals with diverse lived experiences, and skills sets or expertise. TA engagements are intended to focus on a specific challenge related to abortion stigma work. We also request that as applicants you review inroads vision.
  • Members who provide TA may also wish to request TA in other areas.
  • We acknowledge that many members are doing this work outside of paid professional work. Inroads is committed to distributing resources, especially during this crisis, in a way such to value everyone’s time and work.
  • While the TA requestor does not receive monetary compensation but instead mentorship and guidance around a challenge in their work, the work of the TA provider will be compensated financially by inroads. Inroads TA  is compensated at $50 USD/hour of the TA provider’s time. The TA provider will estimate the level of effort and complexity in the TA plan, and be compensated accordingly. If a TA provider is able to conduct all of this work as part of their paid work, they can elect to waive the compensation..

How to Apply to be a Technical Assistance Provider

Inroads members around the world have numerous lived experiences and areas of expertise. So far, the best way that a member has been able to share all of this with other members is by participating in inroads gatherings or an online webinar, or by sharing information and consultation on the listserv.

Inroads is leveraging the current ban on travel to shift network resources towards compensating inroads members to provide technical assistance and mentorship to other members.
